Genetically modified food
Hello everyone! Today I am going
to tell you something about genetically modified food.
GM food is the result of a laboratory
process, in which scientists take genes from one organism and artificially
infiltrate them into the DNA of the other organism. These organisms are usually
plants and animals. The purpose of these adjustments is to increase food
production.
Scientists have already created these
combinations:
- Genes from Arctic Fish have protected tomatoes and strawberries from frost
- The fish genes were put into the ice cream
- They put more growth hormone into salmon to grow twice as fast
Food of this type must bear a GMO label
on the packaging. It’s very dangerous for human organism and it increases the probability
of cancer.
