Hello, today I will tell you something about Slovak scientists.
Jozef Murgaš
He was born in Tajov in 1864 and he died in Wilkes-Barre in 1929.
He was also a architect, botanist, painter and Romna Catholic priest. In 1896 he emigrated in USA and here in 1904 he effected first radio transmission.
Matej Bel
He was born in Očová in 1684 and he died in 1749 in Bratislava.
He was slovak polymath, pedagogue and one of most important scientists of 18. century.
He is also known as the Great Ornament of Hungary.
In science work he assert modern techniques. For example collective work, procedure according to plan and critical positiion to facts.
Aurel Stodola
He was born in 1859 in Liptovský Mikuláš.
He was slovak physicist, technician and founder of theory of steam and gas turbines.
He was also a pedagogue and one of his students was Albert Einstein.
He died in Zürich in 1989 but he is buried in Liptovský Mikuláš.
